WinForms CEFSharp 37.0.0.0 C# X86 (Master) 12-Nov-14 Build Red Scroll Bars?

Hi.

I was testing 33.0.2.0 and then you guys pushed out 37.0.0.0 recently and in my code I just referenced the new dlls just to see if it's going to work with the old code.It seems to work but now I got a weird outcome.

Why are my scroll bars red? I guess something changed in the code?

Any notable changes between 33.0.2.x and 37.0.0.0 ?

This does not happen in the new code. Just Trying to track what changed.

They are red because you need to copy the new .pak files.

It seems that if you add

settings.PackLoadingDisabled = true

To the Line 21 in CefSharp.Example you get this issue. The browser seems fully functional except for the red scroll bars.

It was my understanding that PackLoadingDisabled prevents the devtools_resources.pak from loading... since I do not wish to use that ability.

@daveaton With the introduction of version 37 some new pack files are included. Did you upgrade your nuget references to include cef.redist.x64.3.2062.1898 or cef.redist.x86.3.2062.1898

Can you confirm the following files are in your bin directory

• cef.pak
• cef_100_percent.pak
• cef_200_percent.pak
• devtools_resources.pak
• icudtl.dat

My suggestion would be to use build.ps1 to generate nupkg files and reference those rather than manually building. A rough guide is available here https://github.com/cefsharp/CefSharp/wiki/Building-Nupkg-Files

Has CI builds from master, only created today, so maybe a few teething problems. Please provide feedback if you do give it a try.

Hi.

Here is what I am doing... I am using the GitHub application and Sync the entire project. I copy the entire project and rename it to give it a new date. This way it should be a fresh copy every time.

I start the project and Visual Studio takes about 6 min to download automatically new git requirements (I assume that's is what is happening)

I compile the version in debug mode since it's there already..

Then I set CefSharp.Winforms.Example as the startup application and confirm there are no red bars by compiling the application.

I add this line

settings.PackLoadingDisabled = true

to CefExample.cs

and recompile the application then run it in visual studio. It loads this time with red scroll bars.

Forgive me I am new to GitHub. How can I include this new url into my project.

I do like compiling the project myself just incase I need to tweak something later on I have that freedom :) (unless I can't something to work correctly)

Yep. Red scroll bars also confirmed here with CefSharp.MinimalExample.WinForms using latest CI build (CI408) from our new myget feed https://www.myget.org/F/cefsharp/. If I set Cef.Initialize(new CefSettings() { PackLoadingDisabled = true } ); I get the red scroll bars.

I guess that's a "new feature" coming with the CEF 2062 branch. As CefSharp is just a thin-ish .NET binding on top of CEF on top of Chromium htey define most of what you get. There's probably a more fine grained option in Chromium or CEF than disabling all of the PackLoading - or it's simply an upstream bug. Downloading cefclient.exe from http://cefbuilds.com and using that to verify if it's a CEF thing is our usual course of action. A good source for Chromium options is peter.sh/experiments/chromium-command-line-switches/ - CEF specific options are documented in either the CEF API or wiki pages.

As the FAQ was written before we upgraded to CEF 2062 I guess we might get to rewrite the FAQ now 😄

Well I guess I will have to keep it enabled then for now. The Red Scroll bars are a bit much reminds me of a virus warning, my program is kinda like a kiosk I just don't want people using some kind of short key combo to bring the developement tools up. I will wait and see what future development will have on this :)
