Summary of Changes

Hello @jcstein, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

I've updated the how-to-guides/celestia-node-trusted-hash.md documentation to provide clearer instructions and important considerations for users. The changes aim to improve the user experience by addressing common pitfalls and limitations when syncing a light node from a trusted hash, specifically regarding data store management and valid sync heights. This resolves issue #2195.

Highlights

  • Prerequisite for Trusted Hash Sync: I've added a crucial prerequisite step for users attempting to sync a light node from a trusted hash: they must first remove any existing node data store. This prevents potential conflicts or issues with the new sync process.
  • Sync Height Limitation: I've included a note clarifying a limitation regarding sync height. Users cannot sync to a height earlier than the data availability sampling (DAS) start height, ensuring they understand the minimum height from which they can begin syncing.

Code Review

This pull request adds important notes for users syncing a light node from a trusted hash. The note about removing the existing data store is a crucial prerequisite. I've found a potential error in the explanation about syncing to a specific height, which could mislead users. My review includes a suggestion to correct this.

```
You also cannot sync to a height earlier than the data availability sampling (DAS) start height.
If you want data from height `n`, start syncing from at least height `n`.
medium
This statement appears to be incorrect. To retrieve data from a specific height n, you must sync from a trusted hash at a height less than or equal to n. Starting from a greater height would skip over block n, making its data unavailable.
Suggested change
If you want data from height `n`, start syncing from at least height `n`.
If you want data from height `n`, you must start syncing from a height less than or equal to `n`.
