Release:
v0.13.6 brings AI into CrossWatch with Assistant and MCP.
Ask CrossWatch is a built-in assistant that looks at your health, syncs, logs, events and settings and explains what went wrong.
It can also suggest a next step, like a sync or a capture. This can help you find and fix many sync issues.
No AI key? Ask CrossWatch still answers how-to questions from the CrossWatch wiki.
You bring the AI model: a cloud provider with your own key, or a free local model like Ollama or LM Studio. CW ships no model.

✨ Highlights

• Ask CrossWatch: Ask questions about your syncs, scrobbling, connections or settings.
  • Opens from the new sparkle button in the top bar.
  • Works with OpenAI, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, Ollama, LM Studio or any OpenAI style API.
  • Looks at health, the last sync, logs, events, Analyzer findings, the watcher and your settings.
  • Searches the wiki for how-to questions and links the pages it read under the answer.
  • Answers can come with buttons to open the right logs, events, Analyzer or settings page.
• Wiki mode: Without an AI provider, Ask CrossWatch answers from the CrossWatch wiki, with source links and follow-up questions.
  • It cannot look at your logs or settings. Add an AI provider for full help.
• Action cards: The assistant can suggest an action as a card under the answer. Nothing runs until you click Run.
• Explain with AI: Analyze buttons in the log panel and on the Logs page.
• Use your own AI (MCP): CW now has MCP endpoint for Claude Code/Desktop, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, LM Studio or VS Code.
• Dropped shows: History pairs now have one Dropped shows choice per provider: Sync normally, Ignore or Sync + tag dropped.
  • Sync + tag dropped syncs the plays and marks the show dropped on the other side.
  • Works with Trakt, MDBList, SIMKL, WeTrakr and FlickList.
  • Existing Ignore dropped shows settings keep working.

🔧 Fixes & Improvements

• Added: AI help section under Settings → UI and Security with the assistant setup and AI access.
• Added: Collection media info between Trakt, Floppy and CW tracker
• Added: Trakt Own-app connections now use the PIN flow because Trakt secrets are deprecated (some day)
• Added: CLI commands:
  • cw mcp serve as a bridge for AI apps that start a local command, like Claude Desktop.
  • cw mcp check to test the MCP endpoint with your token.
  • cw auth token create --access monitor for a read-only token, plus an ACCESS column in cw auth token list.
• Added: Ignore dropped shows for WeTrakr and FlickList.
• Added: Interactive sync shows planned dropped tags as Mark dropped rows. Only ticked rows are written.
• Added: Dropped tags are recorded in Events.
• Improved: Open Mappings & blocks now shows all shared and pair-specific rules you have access to.
• Improved: Local database no longer stalls pages during syncs, shows who holds a lock and a rebuild option in Maintenance.
• Improved: WeTrakr removes rewatch plays in batches of 100 instead of one call per play.
• Improved: WeTrakr changed API limits and no shows user specific API's left in the connection probes.
• Fixed: Scrob collection adding seasons not in the source
• Fixed: MDBList dropped shows list could stop after the first page.
• Fixed: Collection format was lost between Floppy and PunchPlay
• Updated: CrossWatch version to v0.13.6.
