Access the Kodi DB instead of the client?

Wondering if there is any thought to connecting to the Kodi DB or a shared SQL for people who use that?

Absolutely a fair question, but I’m afraid I don’t have any plans for that.
I understand the reason behind the request, but it would conflict with the architecture blueprint I’m following.
The intention is that integrations go through supported APIs rather than connecting directly to an application database.

Connecting to databases directly, in any form, would introduce a huge dependency on the internal database structure. Schema changes, migrations or implementation changes could then break the integration without there being a stable contract in between.
It would also mean additional work around permissions, security, validation, compatibility and support.

As this project follows a one to many principle based on standardized blueprints, this is not something that is going to happen anytime soon, if ever.

Appreciate it. I have multiple clients, so I just wanted to save some headaches. No problem, I can give this a go

Yeah, I understand. You can create up to 10 different Kodi profiles, but managing all of them can be a headache. If they are all online 24/7 then its no issue, but most clients wil be offline most of the time. Anyways CW has included time outs and rest modes to handle offline clients and stuff. But its never ideal.
