That's a good question! I made this because I needed it, and have somewhat neglected it since then, as long as it works for me. I should really add some information.

You need a cargo/rust installation. Then, you can install it with

cargo install --git https://github.com/cgevans/tiny2

You can run the gui from the terminal with obsbot-gui. Note that it is really quite rudimentary; I add things when I need them, and can figure them out. Also, controls that already work with standard v4l2 (like pan/zoom) aren't part of it.

Also: it turns out that you don't need to be root, you just need rw on the correct /dev/video{N}. Depending on your distribution, you might be able to do this with udev, or by adding yourself to a group like video (you can check the group and permissions on the device).

I'll keep this issue open until there is actually documentation of this stuff somewhere.

That's an amazing work! Very nice, congratulations!! I finally made time to try it and it's absolutely great :)

I hope you make time to keep improving it and be able to show somehow this software is here to make linux users (it was not easy to find this repo).
