1. Download the ZIP with the link above (or from Assets at the bottom of this page).
2. Right-click the ZIP, choose Properties, tick Unblock if you see it, and click OK.
3. Right-click the ZIP and choose Extract All... to any normal folder, such as your Desktop.
4. Open the extracted Korath Plus folder and double-click Korath Plus Mod Launcher.exe.
5. Pick a mod (or "Never mind, just give me Korath+" for the classic experience) and click Play.

If the game does not start, double-click Diagnose Shandalar.cmd in the same folder and share what it says.

Don't use the "Source code" downloads. They don't contain the game.

What's new in v0.2.1

• Hard Mode (title screen > Korath+, top row, off by default): no saving or loading by hand, one automatic save after every duel and whenever your gold or cards change.
• The Abyss and Magus of the Abyss now destroy the computer's creatures too.
• Save names no longer lose a letter each time the save screen opens.
• Five card fixes from v0.1.3 are back (missing in v0.2.0): Two-Headed Giant of Foriys, Guardian Angel, Raging River, Vesuvan Doppelganger, Desert.
• No more "Configuration error" pop-ups for mods that name cards this game doesn't have (e.g. Treasure Cruise).
• Classic mana-symbol duel backgrounds for opponents again.
• Fix Screen Resolution.cmd works again, and the player notes / Start Here files are back in the download.

This is the complete playable game. It is the only file most players need. The smaller .sha256 file is optional and lets you verify the download.

What changed since v0.1.0

• Preserves every supported card and artwork file from v0.1.0
• Adds one more supported card: 1,130 newly supported cards and 12,318 selectable cards total
• Raises the supported Final Fantasy total from 77 to 78 cards
• Corrects the rarity tags for 308 added cards, including rare and mythic printings; mythics use the game's rare tier because this version of Shandalar predates a separate mythic tier
• Includes the latest confirmed card-behavior and campaign fixes
• Defaults to fullscreen with Window = 0
• Gives clear instructions when Windows cancels launch with error 1223

How to play

1. Download the playable ZIP from Assets.
2. Right-click the ZIP, choose Properties, and select Unblock if Windows shows that option.
3. Extract the entire ZIP to a writable Windows folder. Do not run it from inside the ZIP.
4. Open the extracted Korath Plus folder and run Play Shandalar.cmd.
5. If it does not open, run Diagnose Shandalar.cmd.

The package starts with an empty SaveGame folder. It does not contain the creator's saves, diagnostic reports, backups, or research files.

Korath Plus is not intended to replace or take attention away from the excellent work u/ilikethemeta is doing on Shandalar: 30th Anniversary Edition. Basically, this just exists to make FortuneShoddy happy so that genius can keep making us awesome mods.

The projects take fundamentally different approaches.

Future goals

1. Add the entire Final Fantasy set
2. Continue adding cards from other sets
3. Add more optional features that players can turn on or off

I already have an endless mode that unlocks after defeating Arzakon working. It is not included in this release, but I plan to make it an optional feature in a future version.

You do not need this package to play the game. It is for people who want to edit Korath Plus, study the work, collaborate, or continue development with an AI.

It contains the current source and working-tree changes, installable builder program, knowledge database, current evidence, failed approaches, Git history, relevant project-task summaries, and detailed continuation instructions.

After extracting it, run VERIFY_HANDOFF.cmd, then read README.md and START_HERE_NEXT_AI.md.

The tiny .sha256 files are optional integrity checks. Most people do not need to download them.
