Development Log

We decided our project, Kill the king. Basic concept of this game are completed before proposal. It was really rough idea but it contains our core game algorithm well. This idea was useful to implement our project.


To improve Our project has a fun, We test our game with paper and pen. By test, We really enjoyed this. It was fun enough. And we could modified our game's rule easily.

We modified Our chatting program assignment.

Now We can draw our character image in there.

With several trial and error. We finally drew a chess map in our GUI screen.
###Assign random roles that do not overlap with incoming clients.

We finally combine chatting screen, direction buttons and game map in one screen And we also changed map icon image to indivisual buttons



Now We modified King, Citizen, Spy images for update with Victory/Lose condition


Now We modified Tree, Ash images for game concept
###After the client picks up the first place chosen, it instructs the client to select again when the overlap occurs. Otherwise, start the first turn.


We can select button in game map to select first positions of characters.

By Clicking buttons, We can move player's character's position. We have to send this data to server, And server will process those data to check it is ok or not.
###Combine the position of each player's movements to deliver the game's win / loss and the progress of the next turn to the server.
Some of game algorithms are modified. Now Server can handle Client's position and send back to all Clients.

We made a rough sketch of our project's main screen which is used for Log-in screen
###We added method to clients who is dead can observe king's screen. (observer mode)
Now Citizen can burn trees when they move their position. And King can not move to ashes.
All of the clients can not move their position from the edge of the map to the outside of the map Client can handle those invalid movement and send a message that is an invalid movement.

We made Log-in Screen for our game to type IP address and Player's name. It will clearly shows our game's Story and Concept well. We combined two windows for information in one screen.
And there are several modifying in Game Algorithm.
We added method to show replay to all clients individually after game ends.
