Beta 3 is more or less a finalization release before we switch to the Completionary (Stable) channel, but is quite a "large" update:

Changes in Beta 3, summarized:

• milanf and dre have been bumped to 5.4.309-eLTS (thanks, @jpb896 )
• We've updated our boot animation changer, building off of the work from Evolution X. We've also reduced the number to 4 boot animations, and are working on some CharaROM-unique boot animations.
• We've made CharaTweaks appear in the right folder, for less confusion
• To prevent confusion, we've renamed Factory Data Reset to User Data Reset.
• Prebuilts, anyone? Say hello to ntfy, AntiSafetyCore, Android Auto functionality on MicroG, OpenKeychain, and F-Droid acting like Play Store. Thanks to sn-00-x (aa4mg), Astoritin (AntiSafetyCore), the F-Droid Team (F-Droid Privileged Extension), binwiederhier (ntfy), the OpenKeychain developers (OpenKeychain), and the Murena/e/OS team (for the reference repository)
• You, for using the ROM

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT... the ROM isn't the only thing with updates!
Say hello to @theTrueClover , our maintainer for tanzanite (Redmi Note 14)! We've also got someone working on a52sxq, but I don't think that person wants to be known publicly, so we'll respect them.

I also recently picked up a Samsung Galaxy A20, so that may appear in our device roster soon!

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ
Only ginkgo/willow and veux builds have been tested, both worked. I have since found out that both milanf and dre builds bootloop due to an outdated kernel. DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THOSE DEVICES
There will be a new build soon fixing all these bootloops (not from me though; my build PC is inaccessible right now anyway)

What's New:

• Add some patches from RestlessOS
• Sync with crDroid sources, as of April 28, 2026
• Add official support for ginkgo (Redmi Note 8), willow (Redmi Note 8T) and veux (Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G/POCO X4 Pro 5G)

CharaROM 1.0 Beta 2

CharaROM Beta 2!

While this is mostly to fix a lot of the issues encountered in Beta 1 and Beta 1.5 (unreleased), some notable changes include:

• Adding "Restart SystemUI" button to the Reboot options for dre and milanf (Thanks, @eepymeowers !)
• Making sure Build Maintainer... or, rather, Chaos Engineer is appropriately assigned
• Preparing to integrate AXP.OS patches
• Preparing to integrate F-Droid's Privileged Extension into the ROM
• Removing LineageOS's telemetry "metrics"
• Adding and improving a new Updater UI (Thanks, @jpb896 )
• Adding some RestlessOS patches
• Beginning to add LibreDNS options (Thanks, @eepymeowers , for the suggestion!)
• Integrating upstream changes from both crDroid and LineageOS

While there's probably a lot we didn't quite get to, we wanted to get this out while we have a stable, functioning build so that our users can update and be on the latest security patches. And yes, we're aware that dre and milanf are marked as UNOFFICIAL builds, we'll fix that next release.

Recovery Images

This release contains the recovery images for the devices we support. It will be continuously updated.

TWRP for milanf provided by the very knowledgeable @PizzaG. Note from him: "Remember to add 'check to reflash twrp after flashing ROM' option in TWRP to help people alleviate further flashing issues".
We're including this TWRP primarily for first-time flashing, but users can feel free to continue using it. Note that decryption does work in this TWRP, so we are not responsible for anything that happens to your data if you continue to use the TWRP after the first flash.
Utilizing the TWRP is as simple as fastboot flash boot TWRP_12.1-Stylus_5G_2022-XT2215-CustomRom.img and fastboot reboot recovery. After that, it's simply just following the LineageOS instructions
