@vincent-guesnard I think the better way to do that would be to use the mouse to trigger the annotation plugin: https://github.com/chartjs/chartjs-plugin-annotation I would not recommend drawing in the event handler.

With some of the work in #3718 this will become a lot easier in 2.5 so someone can write a plugin for it.
