KeptNear v0.1.0-prealpha.2

This is an experimental source and unsigned macOS preview for macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon.

Important

• This build is unsigned and not notarized. macOS Gatekeeper may block it.
• KeptNear is experimental and has not received an external security audit.
• Do not store production passwords, tokens, or other production credentials in this release.
• The vault format may change before a stable release.
• Updates are manual.
• The bundled Broker, MCP adapter, and CLI are development components and are not yet enabled as a supported end-user workflow.

Highlights

• Refined native three-column macOS interface and sidebar navigation.
• English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese interface support.
• Local vault creation, opening, unlocking, Keychain convenience unlock, encrypted backup and restore, import/export, and file-sync conflict workflows.
• Local password health, secure clipboard handling, auto-lock, and diagnostics boundaries.
• Updated reviewed build toolchain to Rust 1.93.0, rusqlite 0.39.0, and bundled SQLCipher 4.10.0.

Installation

1. Download the DMG and its attached SHA-256 file.

2. Verify the checksum from the download directory:

   shasum -a 256 -c KeptNear-0.1.0-prealpha.2-macos-arm64.dmg.sha256

3. Open the DMG and drag KeptNear.app to Applications.

4. Because this build is unsigned and not notarized, open it only if you understand and accept the Gatekeeper and supply-chain risk.
