Messages from Stalwart are not delivered to chatmail servers #645
Description
This is almost certainly a chatmail issue since it is chatmail rejecting some parameters. However, it happened to me while using deltachat and I have not tested other chatmail clients (are there any?). If I should open an issue there instead after all, I can do so.
- using nine.testrun.org
- sending from a stalwart mail server
Expected behavior
An end-to-end encrypted chat is set up (using qr code)
Actual behavior
I received a mail delivery system error stating:
Failed to deliver message – Your message could not be delivered to the following recipients:
2grh8mqum@nine.testrun.org (host 'nine.testrun.org' rejected command 'RCPT TO:2grh8mqum@nine.testrun.org NOTIFY=DELAY,FAILURE' with code 555 (0.0.0) 'RCPT TO parameters not recognized or not implemented')
The issue is likely the NOTIFY=DELAY,FAILURE parameters. Stalwart uses only standard parameters, so this means chatmail is probably being non-conformant. I can send mail to all other kinds of servers
Steps to reproduce the problem
- Use a stalwart email server (or some others probably)
- Use deltachat on that and on a chatmail server
- Try to open a chat between the two accounts
