multiple pages of columns

The maximum number of columns I can confortably keep on a standard monitor without sacrifice too much the content is four, maybe five.
If you had others you see a slice of them, you can of course move with the arrows but i don't find it nice to see.

I'd like to have some rigid cages, like virtual workspaces on operating systems graphical environments.
You keep maybe 4 columns in page 1, and other 4 or page 2.
