Holy cow, that's a lot of commits. I'll probably cherrypick individual commits for merging. So...here we go: Commit 858a83b
Commit d26d79c
Commit 0e17c86
Commit 90737b1
Commit 254cffd
Commits f8ce3f9, c519792, 7ea05d3, 3e3fb9a, d4b869b, e18078c
Commit db132e2
I'll need to fix gnome-control-center-ubuntu for this. I think the patch only needs to simple refreshing.
Doesn't sound too hard to fix :)
Crap. I'll need to package an older version of evolution-data-server or remove the event notification functionality from indicator-datetime.
Hopefully won't be too hard to fix. Ubuntu 13.04 uses the same NetworkManager version as Arch.
Yeah...I ran into this earlier as well. During the removal of the fallback session in GNOME 3.8, some code for launching gnome-settings-daemon automatically was removed as well. I think this is why Ubuntu uses (will use) Upstart's user session features to launch gnome-settings-daemon in future Ubuntu versions. I don't know how to fix this in Arch yet.
Looks like appmenu-gtk is trying to call GTK_IS_TEAROFF_MENU_ITEM, which doesn't exist in GTK 3.8 anymore. Thanks a lot for all the commits and finding the issues w/GNOME 3.8! It will definitely help with the porting process :) EDIT: It'll probably be another hour and a half before I get home and start working on this. |

no prob, I just had some time left to spend and the lecture at the university was quite boring, so I thought, I'd get started and see how far I'll get^^ |

Thanks for the all the PKGBUILDs! I didn't use them directly, but I took some of the changes. If you want me to put your name at the top of the PKGBUILDs, just let me know :) |

Don't bother. I'm just glad I could help. But if you want to, you can put it in, I don't mind... |
Got most packages building, except
control-center-unity, libcontrol-center not found
indicator-bluetooth, linker error
indicator-datetime, No package 'libedataserverui-3.0' found
nm-applet, compiling error
and I hadnt had the time to check whats really working and what is not, but I suspect gnome-settings-daemon isnt, since most setings are not applied...
manually starting helps, maybe the autostart does not work or it crashes early...
anyway, here's my .xsession-errors, it may help you tracking down some issues^^
