Rotator

Rotator is a data analysis interface that enables flexible multisensory data display. For more information, consult the project page located at http://resenv.media.mit.edu/rotator.

Note: This interface is not currently intended for use by others. Therefore, the instructions below are minimal. If you are interested in learning more about the Rotator platform, or using it for your own data, please consult me directly.

Usage

npm install
npm start
open http://localhost:3000

Testing Interface

  • Drag appropriately formatted files into drag-and-drop interface
  • Drag audio and visual windows around the node map
  • Adjust data-to-audio settings using the left-hand control menu (click on the hamburger icon in the top left)

About

This project was part of my MIT Media Lab master's thesis. It is an interface that allows users to swipe high dimensional data between their auditory and visual fields. Idea is that humans might better parse/monitor data streams if split intelligently between senses
