Description:
Currently, there is no way to quickly see which episodes have been marked as played across all podcasts. Once an episode is played, it often disappears from the default view or becomes hard to locate. A dedicated filter or view for played episodes would greatly improve long-term library management.
Use case:
- Review what I've already listened to (e.g., to revisit show notes or timestamps)
- Un-mark episodes if I want to re-listen
- Keep a clean overview without losing access to archived/played content
Proposed implementation:
- Add a toggle or filter button in the PodNotes main view: "Show played episodes"
- When enabled, the episode list shows everything (including played), with a visual indicator (e.g., a checkmark or dimmed text)
- Alternatively (or additionally), a dedicated "Played" section or a Dataview-compatible property that users can query on their own
- This would be in line with the existing per-podcast "Hide played episodes" option, but with the ability to globally unhide them.
Additional context:
- Marking as played currently breaks timestamp links (reported separately), so a way to keep played episodes accessible would also serve as a workaround until that bug is fixed.
- Many podcast apps (Pocket Casts, AntennaPod) offer an "Archive" or "Played" section for exactly this purpose.
