setup.sh failed on fresh VPS when unattended-upgrades holds the apt lock — the typical flow (new VPS → paste the install command) often collides with the first automatic security update, so the very first apt-get could exit immediately with Could not get lock and abort the install. setup.sh now waits up to 300s for the lock on every apt-get via DPkg::Lock::Timeout, shows a short System updates in progress… message when the lock is already held, and writes /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/00cipi-lock-timeout so later steps (PPA, NodeSource, cron) inherit the same timeout. set -o pipefail was added so piped installers (e.g. NodeSource) cannot fail silently. lib/php-apt.sh: direct dpkg -i (Sury keyring) uses cipi_wait_for_dpkg_lock because dpkg does not honour the apt timeout; removed || true on that path so a broken keyring install stops instead of continuing with missing PHP packages. Migration 4.6.7 applies the apt.conf snippet on existing servers.
