Feature Request: Separate Shortcuts for Toggle Talk and Push-to-Talk (e.g. Ctrl+Space / Ctrl+Shift+Space)

Really impressed with Handy – works great on Windows 11, the voice-to-text recognition is excellent.
One feature request: it would be very useful to have two separate shortcuts – for example:

Ctrl + Space → standard voice recognition (toggle talk)
Ctrl + Shift + Space → push-to-talk

This would make normal speech recognition and quick dictation much more convenient.

Yeah, this would be great. Voibe supports this functionality as shown in the image, and Voibe is also great in that double tapping a key is also allowed.

Update/prototype: I ported a branch on top of current main (v0.9.0 + latest commits as of 2026-07-06) that adds a separate toggle-lock transcription shortcut while leaving push-to-talk unchanged:

The relevant shortcut behavior in the branch:

• Adds a default transcribe_locked binding named Transcribe (Toggle Lock).
• Default examples: macOS option+cmd+space, Windows/Linux ctrl+alt+space.
• Locked bindings bypass the global push_to_talk setting, so pressing once starts recording and pressing again stops/transcribes.
• Existing hold-to-talk behavior remains available on the normal transcribe binding.

This branch also carries the related Media while recording work from #1502 (None / Mute / Pause / Fade Volume), but the toggle-lock part is separable if maintainers prefer a smaller PR.

Local verification after the rebase:

• npm run build passes.
• git diff --check origin/main...HEAD passes.
• Full Rust/Tauri verification still needs to run before PR submission in an environment with Cargo/Rust and the macOS WebView/toolchain.

Whisper has a great one. You can double tap to toggle on or just hold down the same key for push to talk

CTRL+Space is used for autocomplete or switching input languages.

I use the "Pause/Break" hotkey for Handy.
I need support for extended keys on the keyboard.
