Feature Request: ESL Language Learning Pop-Up & Grammar Breakdown
Summary
When using Handy's post-processing for dictation, grammar and phrasing are automatically corrected. For English as a Second Language (ESL) speakers, this presents a great learning opportunity. I would like an optional, non-invasive pop-up that highlights original vs. refined text and offers an on-demand explanation of any corrections.
User Story
As an ESL speaker using Handy, I want to see what mistakes were corrected in my spoken input so that I can learn from my errors and improve my English proficiency over time.
Proposed User Flow & UI Requirements
1. Quick Diff Pop-Up (Non-Invasive)
Trigger: Appears automatically in a corner of the screen right after post-processing completes.
Content:
Original Text: The raw transcribed spoken input.
Refined Text: The post-processed version.
Visual diff/highlighting showing exact changes (e.g., strike-through for removed words, green highlight for added/corrected words).
Behavior: Fades away automatically after a few seconds unless hovered over or clicked, ensuring it does not disrupt the typing flow.
2. Detailed Explanation View (Interactive)
Trigger: User clicks on the quick diff pop-up.
Content:
A larger window or modal displaying:
Specific grammar, vocabulary, or stylistic mistakes identified.
Concise explanation of why the correction was made (e.g., tense consistency, preposition usage, natural phrasing).
Clear breakdown comparing the original phrase to the improved version.
Settings & Controls
Toggle Option: Enable/Disable "Show Grammar Learning Pop-Up" in Settings.
Threshold Control (Optional): Option to show feedback only when significant changes are made, rather than minor punctuation tweaks.
