Download attachments in issue

Describe the feature or problem you’d like to solve

I would like to download all attachments done on an issue.

Proposed solution

For someone like me, who has a Github Action pipeline based on the issue description and attachments, it would be very useful to have a way to download attachments. We are thinking of moving away from Jira to Github, and we are stuck with this issue.

We are an enterprise using Github Enterprise on Cloud.

However, I'm not super clear what do you mean by attachments, because issues have various associated resources. Can you please elaborate on your use case?

Hi @babakks , when we create a new issue in github, there is an option to attach files , right. I am talking about that. Attaching a screenshot for your reference.

Thanks, @raghav135! 🙏 This is closely related to #1895. The problem is that there's no public API for such operations that gh can use for upload or download attachments.

For the download part, an alternative approach could be to parse the issue/PR description from markdown, extract URLs, and download them. But this is well out of scope of gh. However, it makes a good gh-extension idea (hence I'm labelling it as such). 💡

Thanks @babakks , but can you kindly suggest to which repo I can add this feature request? For example, if I want the github team to provide a public API for it to work with CLI, which repo is the right one?
