Disposable Tools

Software for an audience of one. Built fast, shipped tight, not precious.

A book about the tools you build for yourself, this week, because nothing else does the job. AI changed the cost equation for bespoke software. The question shifted from "is this worth building?" to "what was stopping me?" — and the answer, mostly, was the friction. The friction is gone now. The book is what to do with that.

Grounded in real case studies — every tool discussed is on GitHub with a real commit history. None of them were planned. All of them shipped.

Why this book

Most software writing is about building for users — plural, hypothetical, to-be-discovered. This book is about the other thing: the tool you build for yourself, scoped tight, shipped fast, and held loosely. Disposable doesn't mean trivial. It means you're not precious about the result.
