Explore traces in the terminal

[clushie]

etop currently collects exporter metrics; it does not receive or display traces.

This proposal is for an optional trace view with service and operation filtering, span timing, and parent/child navigation. The input path remains open for discussion: an OTLP receiver, an existing backend, or a saved trace file.

Upvote this discussion to vote for this feature. Which input path would fit your workflow, and what question should the trace view help you answer?

This is a feature proposal, not an implementation or a release commitment.
