CMDS is used to measure, track, and prove workforce competency for the energy sector.
CMDS is a business service provided by Keyera, serving thousands of employees and contractors across Canada at more than one hundred energy companies. Since 1998, the platform has helped oil and gas companies bridge the gap between worker capabilities and employer needs through online assessment, training, and college-recognized credentialing.
- Competencies: a library of 4,000+ job-related competencies and pre-built occupational profiles, customizable to site-specific requirements.
- Training: 150+ industry-specific eLearning modules with quizzes, tracking, and re-assessment, available online 24/7.
- Certification: third-party validation by certified subject-matter experts; eligible profiles count toward credentials at Lakeland College (Alberta) and Northern Lights College (British Columbia). The Fired Process Heater Operator (FPHO) course is approved by Alberta regulators and prepares candidates for ABSA examinations.
- Compliance tracking: mandatory certifications (First Aid, H2S, WHMIS) and internal documentation (COPs, SOPs) in one system, with real-time reporting and expiry notifications.
