Hey! Just curious, is this a registry or public list you're talking about? Otherwise not sure how you would have seen if an item is claimed... Anyways, after an item has been claimed and you've received the item, you can either
There is no way to mark an item as "received" but there is an open feature request to archive an item rather than fully deleting it, but I haven't fully thought that through yet. Hopefully that clears things up, let me know if there are any additional questions! |

Hi, thanks again for the quick reply! Yes, I'm self-hosting Wishlist and have invited a handful of users. When I view items on my list, I can see how many have been claimed — I assume that's because all users are registered and part of the same group. Your explanation was helpful, but I still feel that the claim-related workflows could use a bit more refinement — and I mean that in the most constructive way. 😊 From my experience, the real-world usage is often messier than the system expects:
Because of that, relying solely on claims can lead to mismatches between the app and reality. The “clear claimed items” action is a helpful tool, but depending on how disciplined your users are, it might not always clean things up the way you'd expect. Idea: "Mark item as received" I think it would be very useful to have a way to manually mark an item (or part of it) as received. Ideally, this would allow the list owner to:
This would help in a number of ways:
I imagine this could be a small popup/modal that lets the user mark one or more items as received and optionally link them to a giver (registered or not). Removing an existing claim would be a helpful side effect — but not required for the feature to be useful. Let me know what you think — does this idea fit within your vision for Wishlist, or would parts of it need to be reconsidered? Thanks again for building and maintaining this project — it’s a fantastic tool, and I really enjoy using it. |

Hi there,
before I open a feature request, I just want to make sure I correctly understand how the "claim" feature works.
Recently, I received some gifts that were part of a wishlist. In the details tab of some items, I noticed that they had been claimed.
Now I'm unsure how to proceed:
What if the item has a quantity greater than one and only part of it was claimed? Can I specify how many I received and who gifted them, so the system correctly matches it with existing claims?
– Will that cause an error?
– Will it disappear from the claimer’s view?
– Will the claimer be notified in any way (e.g., that I changed my mind)?
Thanks in advance for your help — and for providing this great tool!
