[feature request] Include package download metrics

I'm trying to track the package downloads of KEDA, but I can't find those insights anywhere. Would it be feasible to include them in devstats page? I think that they are useful to track the adoption too, specially when the projects ships new components and so on

DevStats track GitHub activity (GitHub archives and GitHub APIs data sources). I don't think this is available there. If want to track other data sources then it may be possible, but this is a new feature request that is already requested here and pending approvals and details.

I think that GH API doesn't expose these metrics directly, that's why I asked to include them into devstats. I was thinking about scrapping them by myself too, but I think that they can be useful for all the projects

CNCF projects get access to free seat licenses and unlimited data retention by reaching out to them in their community slack, or emailing help@scarf.sh

We evaluated it some time ago (so maybe it has changed) and we discarded it because it required to add it as a proxy in the middle to track the downloads, which requires changing helm charts and usages to pass through it and adding a dependency in the pulling critical path so we thought that it's a bit invasive (more than pulling GH metrics 🤣 )

I have assets download count value available from GHA, if this value is meaningful for you, I can easily create a metric for it, or even dashboard, or API.

does GHA means Github Actions? I'm trying to collect metrics from packages, for example from here -> https://github.com/kedacore/keda/pkgs/container/keda

GHA = GitHub Archives, assets probably means number of download of GitHub release packages. This is my quick research.

Yeah, when I checked the GH API, I saw that it exposes release metrics, but not package metrics

yes and I spot checked values in DB and they aren't meaningful at all.
