- Economic incentives (coin creation for stable holders, dilution of unstable holders) force actors to maintain theoretical exchange rates
- Same relative value globally (1 O always equals 1 liter of water in each currency)
- 142 separate O currencies (O_USD, O_EUR, O_JPY, etc.)
- Matches every major national currency
- Exchange between O currencies on-chain

- Decentralized trust network
- Designed to enable UBI in the future
- Proposal: Same purchasing power for everyone
- Would be paid in birth country's O currency
- No inflation (based on stable water price)
- Note: UBI implementation requires significant development and governance
- Generate unlimited O for environmental projects
- No creditors, no interest, no debt
- Fund massive reforestation, ocean cleanup, renewables

Traditional stablecoins peg to USD (unstable, centralized). O pegs to water price (universal basic need). Exchange rates between O currencies are calculated from water price ratios: if water costs $1.50 in USA and β¬1.20 in Europe, then 1 O_USD should exchange for 1.25 O_EUR (1.50/1.20). Economic incentives (not automatic correction) force market actors to maintain these theoretical rates.
Unlike other cryptos with one token, O has 142 currencies to match real-world economic diversity. Each O currency maintains its local water price peg (1 O = 1L water), with exchange rates calculated from water price ratios between countries.
Users measure water prices globally, with cryptographic proofs and multiple validators. No central price oracle needed.
Core Principle: Offender fines reward the offended - bad actors enrich good actors.
The system creates economic incentives to enforce the theoretical exchange rate based on user water price measurements. When actors deviate from the measured water price ratio:
- New coins are created and distributed to holders of stable currencies (good actors)
- This dilutes the value held by unstable currency holders (bad actors)
- Bad actors lose purchasing power through dilution, good actors gain through coin rewards
- The system doesn't auto-correct; it incentivizes all actors to respect the measured rate through economic consequences
Can generate infinite O because value is tied to water price (constant), not scarcity. Perfect for UBI and climate funding.

Q: How are exchange rates maintained?
A: Users measure bottled water prices globally. Theoretical exchange rates are calculated from water price ratios (e.g., if O_USD water = $1.50 and O_EUR water = β¬1.20, then 1 O_USD = 1.25 O_EUR). When market rates deviate from this, new coins are created and given to stable currency holders, diluting unstable holders. This creates economic pressure to maintain the theoretical water price-based rates.
Q: Why 142 currencies instead of one?
A: Matches real-world economics. Different countries have different price levels. Each O currency reflects its national economy.
Q: What about Universal Basic Income?
A: UBI is a long-term vision. If implemented, everyone would receive a monthly amount in their birth currency, providing equal purchasing power globally. The specific amount would be determined by community governance based on economic analysis. UBI implementation requires significant development, testing, and governance mechanisms that are not yet in place.
Q: Is this inflationary?
A: No. Value is tied to water price (constant basic need), not scarcity. Can generate unlimited supply without devaluation.
Q: How do you prevent Sybil attacks?
A: BrightID proof-of-personhood ensures one person = one identity. Decentralized social graph verification.
Q: What about scalability?
A: Layer 1 optimizations (10x block size, 1min blocks) + Layer 2 (Lightning Network) targets 100K+ TPS.
