This repository does two separate jobs, and it helps to keep them apart because they change for different reasons and have different owners.

Organization-wide defaults

Everything under .github/ is inherited by every public repository in coccinella-labs. Repositories do not copy these files and do not opt in.

File	What it does
.github/workflows/ci.yml	Test matrix on Ubuntu, Windows and macOS using Python 3.13. Installs the test extra, then runs ruff check, ruff format --check, and run_tests.py (bandit plus pytest with coverage). Uploads coverage to Codecov without failing the build if the upload fails. Runs a separate CodeQL job for Python.
.github/workflows/cla.yml	Contributor License Agreement check, gated on repository_owner == 'coccinella-labs'. Pulls signed.json with a sparse checkout and reads the private bniladridas/cla-bot to verify contributor status.
.github/workflows/auto-close-prs.yml	Fires on opened and reopened pull requests and closes stale ones, skipping organization members.
.github/workflows/lock-merged-prs.yml	On a merged pull request, runs gh pr lock and deletes the branch.
.github/workflows/update-org-activity.yml	Refreshes the activity feed in profile/README.md. This is the only workflow that runs on a schedule, every 30 minutes.

.github/settings.yml	Branch protection for main: required status checks test and codeql, one approving review, admins included, force pushes and deletions disallowed.

The git-gui package

The second half is a small Python package that lives at the repository root and provides a Tkinter desktop GUI for common Git operations.

• Package name git-gui, currently at version 0.1.2
• Requires Python 3.13 or newer
• No runtime dependencies
• Git operations: status, add, diff, log, commit, push, pull

Note

Releases in this repository version the git-gui package. The organization
defaults under .github/ ship continuously from main and are not versioned
separately, so they never appear in a release.
