Heya! While true that GitHub's reliability has definitely been noticeably worse in the past year or two, moving to a new forge definitely takes up a lot of time and currently has little benefit to us. While AI is prevalent everywhere on GitHub we are not forced to use Copilot nor do we explicitly disallow it to be used here. (As much as I'd like to disallow it we'd likely not, particularly as we're forced to use AI at Red Hat) Some thoughts about the forges available though
So while it would be awesome to switch to Forgejo IMO, it's not realistic for us at the moment |

GitHub has degraded over the years since Microsoft's acquisition, first Copilot everywhere and now reliability issues.
An open source project should be hosted somewhere where AI isn't forced down your throat every 2 seconds and the backend is fully open source.
Codeberg/GitLab are options and also Fedora's Forgejo instance: https://forge.fedoraproject.org/
