I would expect some indication when the button is clicked. Like border changing a the color a bit.
Really good would be a ripple effect, but I don't know how difficult that is. (Like what you can see at the examples here: https://vuetifyjs.com/en/components/buttons/#usage)

This will be done in a further design change. Currently, the borders are not working well with transparent and blurred backgrounds. So we need to change back to inner box shadows anyway. With this change, we could add some behaviour for clicking something.

Just some additional note. We also need to add a tab highlighter. We are currently using outline with offset and info color on the input component. We should implement this behaviour also for buttons
