v106 - September 17, 2026:

• uMRC now uses the latest OpenDoors version 6.3 maintained by Deuce (https://github.com/RealDeuce/OpenDoors). The Windows x86 and x64 builds now run as as a standard Windows console application, doing away with the old local OpenDoors GUI. A new ODoors63.dll library file will be included with Windows x86 and x64 releases.
• "Extended" maximum input of 280 characters implemented, If the user types more than 140 characters, the message is split into smaller, separate messages and sent 750ms apart.
• uMRC now builds for FreeBSD.
• Improved message routing from umrc-bridge to local umrc-client instances.
• Added F3 hotkey to recall previous input, with CTRL+R as an alternate key combo.
• Setup utility now shows a list of preferred federated MRC hostnames for selection, rather than defaulting to the old bottomlessabyss URL. Free-text input is still allowed if needed.
• SSL handshake in umrc-bridge now validates the SSL cert against the MRC host string. This can be skipped by specifying -S on the command line.
• Fix for crashes while re-establishing dropped SSL connections.
• Fix for termsizes beyond 80x25, such as 132x37. This is dependent on the drop file used though; CHAIN.TXT reports both the user's terminal rows and columns, while others report only the rows, and others don't report either, in which case 80x24 is used as the default.
• Fix for themes wider than the screen width, to prevent them from wrapping (Claude AI assisted).
• Fix for properly handling GOODBYE packets.
• Fix for scrollback percentage indicator.
• Fix for joining long room names FROM other long room names.
• Sort theme name listings on 'Nix systems.
• Various fixes to string management all throughout to address potential crashes and memory leaks (Claude AI assisted).
• New theme: Violet.
• New WIDE themes for 132-column terminals:
