IIRC this looks as good as it did when the issue fell off the radar - we should keep an eye out for the open PR to fix the follow buttons just to be safe, but I think this is ready to merge. |

Summary
This PR just updates + rebases J.I.'s changes in #1933 . We were just one small copy change from getting that out before it fell off the radar - I'm going to close the old PR when this is merged.
