TL;DR:
We're working to get OnchainKit to its 1.0.0 release!
We're looking for Base builders who love trying the latest and greatest to test out OnchainKit v1.0.0@alpha and help us ship the best possible 1.0 release. Report bugs, share feedback, request features—all of it helps.
What's changed?
Overall, using the alpha version should be a much better experience. And with your help, the eventual 1.0.0 release will be even better.
How to contribute
Make sure your projects are using the alpha version
Existing projects can update to the alpha version by following this guide.
Building something new? Bootstrap a project with the alpha version by running
npx create-onchain@alpha.Collect and submit feedback
What do you like? What do you hate? What's missing? What's confusing? What's broken?
Submit feedback by creating an issue in the OnchainKit GitHub repo.
We'll prioritize bugs, but we highly encourage you to submit feature requests and general feedback.
Engage with the community
We'll use GitHub issues for bugs and feature requests, but for broader discussions and questions, hop into the Base Discord (specifically the #onchainkit channel).
On our end
Aside from looking at issues and fixing bugs, we're going to be improving this open alpha process, and we'd love to hear your feedback here as well. Participating in the open alpha will help us improve the open alpha. Very meta.
We're purposefully starting with a pretty lean structure. The upgrade guide is a markdown file, documentation is going to be sparse at first, but we're going to be improving it as we go.
As we make progress, we'll post updates in Discord and other social channels, write more blog posts, and do whatever else necessary to keep y'all in the loop.
Thank you!
We've been working on OnchainKit for a while now and we're pretty happy with where it's headed. But we also believe the best way to build good products is to get them in front of builders early.
So if you're building onchain and want to help us ship a great OnchainKit 1.0 release, give the alpha a try. Your feedback is what makes the difference between good software and great software.
And to anyone helping or contributing in any way, a huge, huge thank you 🙏
