The hardware stores bauhaus and hornbach have pure argon and pure co2 as well as a mix of argon with 18% CO2 (sold under brand names for the same product). Most sources recommenced some CO2 in the argon for MIG.
We wanted to buy a 20l bottle as it is a lot cheaper per liter. But it was listed as currently not available in our local bauhaus.
One of our neighbors is a industrial gas supplier, though their website doesn't list prices. https://www.guttroff.de/kontakt/
Near horbach is a construction supplier that is a partner of gas supplier. https://www.naeher-baustoffe.de/
What needs to be done:

• ask for availability and prices at naeher-baustoffe
• ask for availability and prices at guttroff (preferred due to proximity)
• register an account at Guttroff
• place an order for a rental bottle for 3 years and a filling of argon with 18% CO²
• pick up the zylinder
• secure it in the hot metal area

If they are not available we should by from hornbach

Guttroff send me their price list and they charge per order for billing and the cylinder in month between the delivery and return month. They can offer a substantial discount for long-term rental of a cylinder and the price per filling of argon is way more competitive to Bauhaus even if we have to pay for overhead on a single cylinder

It would be beneficial to have a one-stop-shop that provides an overview of all tasks that need to be done to enable MIG/MAG Welding at the Space. I am thinking of documentation, an introduction, etc.

@Titan-OX Can you turn this issue into such a one-stop-shop and clearly indicate which tasks are already done in your opinion?

More importantly, the fume extraction hose was ripped of during or around the table upgrade, I found the end piece on its way to the trash...

Mamad, @lmnl99 und ich haben das Commissioning heute vorangetrieben, das Gerät bleibt aber bis zur ausdrücklichen Freigabe nicht nutzbar!

Ich konnte heute kurz über die Einweisung schauen. Inhaltlich kann ich sie kaum beurteilen, aber folgendes ist mir aufgefallen:

• Es existiert noch ein Red Link auf https://wiki.comakingspace.de/index.php?title=Slag_Hammer
• Es wird auf die Seite https://wiki.comakingspace.de/Fire_Extinguishers verlinkt, die für mich outdated wirkt
• Bezüglich Lüftung findet sich folgender Satz: "take care of good ventilation - Use BOTH exhausts of the welding enclosure; but even that might not be enough for long sessions or difficult materials! Also, you should obviously avoid breathing in the fumes."
• • Wie soll denn die Lüftung sichergestellt werden, wenn beide Luftabsaugungen nicht ausreichen? Also was sollen die Leute in diesem Fall tun?
• Es wird auf "exposed electricity (up to 60 V DC, 150 A)" als Gefahr hingewiesen
• • Ist das mit dem neuen Gerät noch eine Gefahr?

Ich würde außerdem darum bitten, dass wir eine Lösung finden, um den Vorhang einfacher so zuzumachen, dass er auch wirklich dicht ist. In der Vergangenheit war er das öfter nicht. Ich glaube hier müssen wir es den Leuten leichter machen, sich korrekt zu verhalten als es aktuell ist (können wir den Vorhang zum Beispiel größer als die Öffnung gestalten und dann rollbar so lagern, dass er an der richtigen Stelle z.B. magnetisch einrastet? Ein Traum wäre, wenn das Schweißgerät nur dann funktioniert, wenn der Vorhang komplett zu ist...aber das ist tendenziell Wunschdenken 😅

Brauchen wir hier noch zusätzliches Equipment? Zusätzliche Schweißhelme oder Ähnliches?
