This page explain the design of astrocyte in Loihi.

  1. What is the computational function of astrocyte in our brain? Why astrocyte is needed is neuromorphic computing?

  1. Explain the architecture of astrocyte in our library. What are the functions for each compartments? What limitations of Loihi we overcome to build the astrocyte?

  2. Explain the dynamic of each compartment of astrocyte using results. Explain how spike receiver integrate all input spikes and give spikes to IP3 integrator, how IP3 integrator generate slow spikes, how SIC generator generator voltage signal similar to SIC signal, and how spike generator generator burst spikes when a SIC signal is generated.
