Windows 3.11 WFW - Doesn't work... Or does it?

I have been trying to get Windows 3.11 WFW to work...

Normally after you install it, if you launch Windows, you have no mouse and keyboard.
I found out, if you edit the WIN.INI file and comment out the "KeyboardSpeed" line, then when you load Windows, you at least get mouse.. But as soon as you hit the keyboard at all, it freezes out the keyboard and mouse again...

Has anyone gotten this to fully work?

If you google for "Windows 3.11 mouse keyboard freeze" you'll find similar reports at VirtualBox and DOSBox.

My guess is that the PS/2 driver in Windows (for Workgroups) 3.11 is a bit picky and doesn't play well with v86, that's where I'd start to look.
