Power Mode should be Low Power by default

I've been doing some digging around, and if my understanding of the Power Mode is correct at the code level, shouldn't Low Power be the default to maximize savings?

I switched to Low Power more than a week ago, and have noticed no degradation in performance, but a significant improvement to battery life (+6 days by my estimate). Since enabling the governor (LP) only reduces the CPU frequency when on the watchface at idle and apps/modals lock to HP when displayed, I don't see any harm in enabling this as the default.

Does this make sense or am I missing something?
