OpenSwitchboard is open source under the Apache License 2.0, as of v1.19.3.
Mention it in Slack and an agent reviews the PR, ships the fix, or answers the question — on the model you choose, with its tools running where you decide.
Try it
Node 24 and an Anthropic API key. No Slack needed for the first answer.
initwrites.envandconfig/config.yamlinto~/.switchboard;askruns the whole pipeline and prints the general agent's answer. Get started takes it from there to Slack and to a production deployment on Cloudflare. What ships on every release
@coreplane/switchboardon npm, published through trusted publishing — no token anywhere.Three images on GHCR (
switchboard,switchboard-resident,switchboard-sandbox), each with SLSA build provenance and an SPDX SBOM. Check one yourself:Docs at openswitchboard.dev.
How it is put together
Four seams — Channel, Provider, Executor, Agent — each an interface with more than one implementation, and a dispatcher between them for directives, config layers and authorization. Architecture and How a request flows are the two pages to read first; every non-obvious choice has a decision record.
Contributing
Bugs and small fixes: open a pull request. Anything that changes behavior or a public surface: start a thread here in Discussions or an issue first. Security problems go through private vulnerability reporting, never a public issue. CONTRIBUTING.md has the setup and the review loop — every PR here is reviewed by Switchboard itself, in the open.
