Continuing on from there... it would be efficient and generally preferable to leverage the existing code in some way, rather than writing things from scratch, if possible.
Because the problem occurs for regular members, and not owners, find a way to display the "roster", the "member list" using the owner method.
A user should need to click, go to another separate page, and then it appears. Rather than having it pre-loaded in a tab on the same page. Since when it's preloaded on the same page, the list takes a long time to populate.
