The script has way too many manual steps and needs to be more generic as well. I did something similar in the past which generated all the changes and put them into the proper commits and tags without pushing them. I think we can (and should) achieve the same here. Obviously not something I can sink my teeth into soon. If we moved to CMake completely (and only) we could also easily generate some of these files with it which would reduce the diff/commits necessary on a version bump. |
