[5.x]: Total weight migration very slow

What happened?

Description

I'm working on migrating our site to Craft/Commerce 5 and started running all the migrations needed in our local DDEV environment. Everything was going ok until it reached the m230214_094122_add_total_weight_column_to_orders migration. The first few batches only took a couple seconds, but as the migration progressed the batches take longer and longer to the point where it is now taking over a minute for each batch and has been running for a few hours. Is there any way to address this?

Thanks for reporting. We will include this is a release soon.

To get the fix early, change your craftcms/commerce requirement in composer.json to:

  "craftcms/commerce": "5.x-dev#94bece0e9f9239c5bce45cca26505f774300dcb4 as 5.6.1.1",
  "...": "..."
}

Then run composer update.

We will update this ticket once the release is out.
