v4.2.16 — Update check
A new update-check page is available and linked from the GUI.
Check for updates
A Check for updates link has been added to two places in the GUI:
- The Setup view, inline with the version string
- The menu bar extra, between Show and Quit
Both open a browser page at the ClearanceKit site with the running build's git SHA as a query parameter.
Update check page
The page at craigjbass.github.io/clearancekit/update.html accepts a ?sha= query parameter and:
- Tells you whether your build is current, outdated, or unrecognised
- Lists release notes for all newer versions if an update is available
- Shows all published security advisories with severity, affected/patched status for your version, and a link to the full advisory
- Provides a direct DMG download link for the latest release and for each release in the list
- Hides pre-release and beta builds
