Thougths about official nextcloud/all-in-one

[aronmgv]

Hey,

I have been using your image for couple years and was wondering what is your opinion about official nextcloud all-in-one image? Did you try it yourself (compose.yml)? It would be welcome to mention in the readme how is your image different and why would anyone choose it..

I have been testing it for past days and seems pretty stable. Especially no issues with Collabora..

Anyway do you plan to keep maintaining it for the foreseeable future?

Thanks!

Didn't look at the whole repo but noted that the image seems to run supervisord: https://github.com/nextcloud/all-in-one/blob/a0e420195532ee973cb069f7508aa21457d921c4/Containers/nextcloud/Dockerfile#L266

And that's a big nono for me 😅 This tool didn't received any updates for ~3 years https://supervisord.org/changes.html. They should switch to s6-overlay. I switched my Dockerfiles to s6-overlay back in 2021 when supervisord got a CVE that didn't get addressed.

Thanks for explaining it. Also their compose.yml file looks weird to me.. It declares just one volume nextcloud_aio_mastercontainer but on system you can see more:

local nextcloud_aio_apache
local nextcloud_aio_clamav
local nextcloud_aio_database
local nextcloud_aio_database_dump
local nextcloud_aio_elasticsearch
local nextcloud_aio_mastercontainer
local nextcloud_aio_nextcloud
local nextcloud_aio_redis
local nextcloud_aio_talk_recording

Also networking doesnt make sense to me.. I map port 11000 for the reverse proxy but it is not exposed in ports section.. Anyway never seen such configuration before..
