Bug description

Google Sans Flex font isnt working as intended. It does apply on some of the settings pages and lock screen clock but it doesnt apply to the anywhere else like quick settings or status bar clock.

Steps to reproduce

crDroid settings -> Font Picker -> Google Sans Flex

Relevant log (logcat/build log)

I dont have the logcat since I switched roms now but it happens on other people too.

This one is crDroid. The fonts look thin and they aren't rounded.

This is the 12.6/20260129 build and fonts are working as intended.

This one is pixelOS. The fonts are bold and rounded.

This was working on the 12.6/20260129 build but then it broke again.

applies everywhere for me and working as intended, the thin font is still Sans Flex just thinner so it's still working

Maybe device spesific issue? The status bar clock clearly isn't google sans flex. Should I rename this as font weight problem?

This is how it looks on avalon, build from last night.
Seems to not be a device issue.

all of the fonts you showed are Google Sans Flex, that font is not always bold and rounded like you think it is

Ohh okay sorry for misunderstanding. Is there a way to make them bolder or more rounded? Like replacing fonts with a module or a config file? I use kernelsu.

i don't use root, i don't have a solution for it, but there's definitely root stuff you could do to change the font to a variant that you like better

Are you serious? U have 3 issues with buggy behavior of fonts, one of them unwatched by two weeks, but closing it with no attention. Fonts are broken, and "install your own font" principe will not fix it, cause bolding will also disappear

What do you mean by installing his own font he will not get the bold he wants? If the user downloads a bold font, all of the text will be bold... and what font issues are you talking about? Tested some fonts from the crDroid setttings, and they are switching just fine...

Reopening due to checking stock Pixel, and can confirm the typeface is different

However, it does appear the font is correctly applied, just SystemUI is using an incorrect typeface
