What?

This project aims to add support for the Indicio network to the Decentralized Identifier (DID) system. A DID is a unique identifier that enables decentralized and self-sovereign identity management. The Indicio network is a blockchain-based network designed to facilitate interoperable and trusted identity solutions.

How?

The following steps were taken to implement Indicio network support in the DID system:

  1. Create DID with Indicio Network Support: The first step was to modify the DID creation process to include support for the Indicio network. This involved updating the DID generation algorithm and adding the necessary configurations to interact with the Indicio blockchain.
  2. Agent Initialization Functionality: The agent initialization functionality was updated to include Indicio network integration. During agent setup, it now establishes connections to the Indicio nodes and configures the necessary protocols to interact with the network.
  3. Indicio Network in Schema and Credential Definition: In order to work with the Indicio network, specific schemas, and credential definitions were required. These were added to the system, allowing the creation and verification of credentials on the Indicio blockchain.

Why?

The addition of Indicio network support to the DID system offers several advantages:

  1. Interoperability: Indicio is designed to enable interoperable identity solutions across different platforms. By integrating Indicio into the DID system, users can seamlessly utilize their DIDs across the Indicio network and other compatible platforms.
  2. Trust and Security: Indicio's blockchain-based approach provides a secure and tamper-resistant foundation for identity management. By leveraging the blockchain's inherent immutability, the system gains trust and reliability.
  3. Decentralization and Privacy: Decentralized identity management empowers individuals with greater control over their personal information. Users can manage their identities without relying on a central authority, enhancing privacy and data ownership.
  4. Community Benefits: The Indicio network is backed by a growing community of developers and organizations. By supporting this network, the DID system becomes part of a larger ecosystem working towards better identity solutions.
