What is the release schedule plan?

There are some features merged into main that I am interested in using, and I'm wondering what the release schedule looks like for the future. Any plans on a new build soon? Any info is appreciated, thanks!

Also if any help is needed to test a build or work on stability for releases, I am a back-end developer and willing to put in some work to help out.

I'd also like to know if new builds are still planned. The last release was over 6 months ago already. Especially the missing support for plug-ins have prevented me from switching entirely to CWA. Instead, I'm running it alongside my traditional Docker instance of Calibre.

You could check out https://github.com/new-usemame/Calibre-Web-NextGen, which is a fork of CWA. It releases multiple times a week, but keep in mind that it leans heavily on AI coding. It has fixed several breaking issues with CWA for me though, so I'm happily using it. It also a drop-in replacement for CWA, so all you have to do is change the image tag. If you don't like it, just change it back to CWA.

I switched as well, as the fixes and rapid development really scratched an itch!

I didn't mind the heavy AI-driven development at first, but the macro focus of the project currently feels a bit unstable. It's not quite a seamless "drop-in replacement" just yet—mainly because untested AI-generated fixes occasionally land in the :latest build, sometimes introducing new regressions.

Because I'm genuinely excited about this fork and want it to succeed long-term, I proposed a lightweight process structure (here) focusing on release discipline and a :dev branch.

It has huge potential and overall I really prefer using CWNG above CWA! Just be aware of the current rapid release cycle before switching—especially if you run a multi-user setup where high stability is a strict requirement.
