Local Deals

Background

Have you ever moved to a new apartment and received loads of junk mail filled with a million different coupons from local companies? Personally I throw this junk mail away and don't take the time to search them for deals. I wonder how much money is spent getting these deals circulated through the mail and if there is a better way of accomplishing this.

Idea

Create a web app and associated phone app that allows local businesses to advertise similar deals to the ones they are sending out in the mail. This could help business save money in advertising and allow users an easier system for looking up local deals. Three key components that we will need as of now are a web portal for businesses to upload coupons, a web portal for consumers to view and redeem coupons and a mobile app to make the process of coupon search and redemption easy for the consumers.
