Reporting a Vulnerability

We take the security of the Cybersecurity Agent Platform seriously. If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, please report it to us as described below.

Please do NOT report security vulnerabilities through public GitHub issues.

How to Report

  1. Email: Contact the repository maintainer via GitHub
  2. Include the following information:
    • Type of issue (e.g., buffer overflow, SQL injection, cross-site scripting, authentication bypass)
    • Full paths of source file(s) related to the issue
    • Location of the affected source code (tag/branch/commit or direct URL)
    • Step-by-step instructions to reproduce the issue
    • Proof-of-concept or exploit code (if possible)
    • Impact of the issue, including how an attacker might exploit it

Response Timeline

Stage Timeframe
Initial Response Within 48 hours
Triage & Confirmation Within 7 days
Fix Development Within 30 days (critical) / 90 days (non-critical)
Public Disclosure After fix is released

Security Measures Implemented

Authentication & Authorization

  • JWT-based authentication with refresh tokens
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) with granular permissions
  • Multi-tenant isolation at all layers

Data Protection

  • TLS 1.3 for all communications
  • AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest
  • PostgreSQL Row-Level Security (RLS) for tenant isolation
  • Ed25519 cryptographic signing for audit logs

Infrastructure Security

  • Network segmentation via Kubernetes Network Policies
  • Secrets management via Kubernetes Secrets
  • Container security scanning in CI/CD
  • Trivy vulnerability scanning

Application Security

  • Input validation on all API endpoints
  • SQL injection prevention via parameterized queries
  • XSS prevention in frontend components
  • CORS configured for specific origins

Security Best Practices for Deployment

Production Checklist

  1. Secrets Management

    • Use Kubernetes Secrets or external vault (HashiCorp Vault)
    • Never commit secrets to source control
    • Rotate API keys regularly
  2. Network Security

    • Enable TLS for all services
    • Configure proper network policies
    • Use a Web Application Firewall (WAF)
  3. Access Control

    • Enable RBAC with least-privilege principle
    • Implement audit logging
    • Regular access reviews
  4. Monitoring

    • Enable security event logging
    • Set up alerts for suspicious activity
    • Regular security audits

Responsible Disclosure

We follow responsible disclosure practices:

  • We will not take legal action against researchers who follow this policy
  • We will acknowledge your contribution in our security advisories
  • We request 90 days before public disclosure to allow time for patching

Acknowledgments

We appreciate the security research community's efforts in making our platform more secure. Contributors who report valid vulnerabilities will be acknowledged in our security hall of fame (with permission).
