Release binaries include runtime build metadata and display the version in the app account menu.
Startup auto-update remains default-off. It consumes GitHub Release assets plus checksums.txt, not GitHub Actions workflow artifacts. Default enablement stays blocked until a documented macOS Alpha installed-app update/restart gate exists; Linux, Windows, Beta, and Stable updater cohorts remain unsupported until their own gates or provider wrappers are implemented.
