This page covers tuning parameters and configuration options for toc-lp-kit.
You can customize the SDR pipeline by setting these variables in a .env file or directly in docker-compose.yml:
SDR_FREQUENCY=7.078000M
SDR_MODE=usb
SDR_SAMPLE_RATE=12k
SDR_GAIN=25
Then reference them in the sdr service command:
rtl_fm -f ${SDR_FREQUENCY} -M ${SDR_MODE} -s ${SDR_SAMPLE_RATE} -g ${SDR_GAIN} \
| sox -t wav -r ${SDR_SAMPLE_RATE} -e signed -b 16 -c 1 - -t pulse js8loop
Keep JS8Call’s waterfall clean by adjusting the null-sink volume:
pactl set-sink-volume js8loop 75%
Inspect available sinks and levels:
pactl list sinks short
Default /etc/chrony/chrony.conf:
pool ntp.ubuntu.com iburst
makestep 1.0 3
driftfile /var/lib/chrony/chrony.drift
rtcsync
To add a GPS reference instead of NTP, append:
refclock SHM 0 offset 0.5 refid GPS
Place your custom file in chrony/chrony.conf before launching.
JS8Call stores its settings in the js8-log volume under ~/.js8call:
- settings.json – GUI preferences
- decode.log – JSON-formatted message records
To change audio input, open JS8Call → File → Settings → Audio → select “Monitor of js8loop.”
