Tracks upstream well, and I don't have to think about it again. That's the pitch!

Seriously, though, this is pretty convenient and it's a great way to discover and keep up with other tools and utilities that I should probably be using. It's nice to have every machine in my home lab (Debian, Ubuntu, and derivatives like PopOS!) all running similar tooling; I use this as part of my build script.
