Summary of Changes

Hello @abhishekjaisw, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request refactors the data acquisition process for the Poland census update script. Previously, the script expected a pre-existing local Excel file; now, it dynamically downloads the raw data from a specified Google Cloud Storage path. This modification streamlines the workflow for automated cloud deployments, ensuring the script can independently retrieve its input and process it, ultimately producing the final CSV output.

Highlights

  • Data Source Update: The script now dynamically fetches the raw Poland census Excel file from a Google Cloud Storage (GCS) bucket using gsutil instead of relying on a pre-existing local file.
  • Cloud Environment Compatibility: This change significantly improves the script's robustness and compatibility for execution in cloud-based automated environments, as it can now independently acquire its input data.
  • Temporary File Management: A new download_from_gcs function handles the download process, and the downloaded local Excel file is automatically removed after successful data processing to ensure a clean execution environment.

Code Review

This pull request updates the Poland census data download script to fetch the source file from Google Cloud Storage instead of a local path. This is a good improvement for running the script in an automated cloud environment. My review includes suggestions to improve exception handling and ensure cleanup of temporary files.
